Our brand “BoqBoq” offers new products, “MAI” and “MAHOROBI”, introducing the grace of fans, the warmth of Japanese lacquer (urushi), and the creative and playful use of metal as never seen before.
These products are designed to produce lighting to create a formal yet hospitable and relaxed environment.
Specifications
By applying Japanese lacquer on the surface of a metal (stainless steel) body, an organic warmth unique to Japanese lacquer is added to inorganic metal. The faint color of the LED coming from the inside lights up beside you with a mysterious color.

Formed by cutting the metal (stainless steel) body in chrysanthemum arabesque design to provide a transparent pattern. Gold leaf is pressed inside by applying Japanese lacquer. When the light is turned on, the surface mirror finish reflects the gold color faintly in the room.

Fusion of Japanese culture and industries
The “BoqBoq” Project was launched by the academic-industrial consortium that combines the state-of-the-art Japanese technologies of local companies and knowledge of Aoyama Gakuin University. Sagamihara City has coordinated the consortium as part of the city’s support project for accelerating consortium-backed business. The “BoqBoq” Project promotes a new business model aiming to develop overseas markets for new products from Sagamihara City, involving overseas marketing experts, web designers and sales channel developers.
